November 15

The American Conservatory Theater gathered an eclectic crowd of actors, appreciators and patrons at the St. Joseph’s Art Society for its fall gala. The highlight of the night was a high-energy performance by the legendary drummer and musician Sheila E., who drew the crowd out of their seats and onto the dance floor with help from her band. The celebration honored the organization’s new artistic director, Pam MacKinnon, and executive director, Jennifer Bielstein, welcoming them to the City. Other well-known actors like Ellen Burstyn, BD Wong and Judd Hirsch presented, saying wonderful things about MacKinnon, Bielstein and the art of theater. The lively event raised $900,000 for future A.C.T. programming.
