‘Trouble in Mind’ at ACT
January 29 @ 8:00 pm
American Conservatory Theater presents a livestreamed performance of Alice Childress’ Trouble in Mind, a moving and laugh-out-loud play about six Black actors rehearsing an anti-lynching play — written and directed by white artists — in a Broadway theater set in 1957 New York. This performance is part of A.C.T. Out Loud, described by organizers as “a new series of play readings featuring enduring works by some of the greatest minds of generations past.” Directed for A.C.T. by Awoye Timpo, the livestream will take place at 8 p.m. and tickets are $15. The performance will be available on demand February 12 through February 26. Buy tickets at act-sf.org.
