When it comes to throwing a festive and fabulous party, the GLAAD team does not mess around. This was evident at the 2018 GLAAD Gala, with the evening hosted by actor and comedian Leslie Jordan and featured actors Mj Rodriguez and Josie Totah, and television personality Michelle Visage. Ketel One Family-Made Vodka was a presenting sponsor and Olympic medalist Adam Rippon talked about the brand’s commitment to the LGBTQ community and its eight-year partnership with GLAAD. Honorees included actor Alyssa Milano, RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Ross Mathews and journalist Emil Wilbekin. All three stars spoke eloquently about their passion for the cause. Milano encouraged the audience to vote, Mathews thanked his mom and shared how he strives to be a role model for young gay men, and Wilbekin challenged the crowd to invest in diversity. After the presentation of awards, transgender pop star Kim Petras performed her hits “Heart to Break” and “All the Time.” Javier Muñoz, Alyson Stoner, Ina Fried, Mathew Shurka, Nats, Ariadne and August Getty, Jackson Bird, Tamara Stewart, Sarah Kate Ellis and Pernella Sommerville came out to support the cause.
