New in Honolulu

Waikiki is famous for massive resort hotels bordering the beach, for those looking for a quieter option just a three-minute walk (we timed it) from the golden sand and surf, Renew offers an enticing option. The 72-room property has just been redesigned by Honolulu design firm The Vanguard Theory. The award-winning team infused the hotel with a swanky mid-century vibe. The comfortable guest rooms—wrought in shades of rose quartz, terra cotta, and deep blues punctuated with rich black accents—are stocked with premium Korres toiletries.

General manager Thomas Harris relates, “Our aim is to serve today’s lifestyle conscious traveler.” The traveler looking to immerse themselves in the Hawaiian landscape all day and return to the quiet respite of Renew for a good night’s sleep.

Upon arrival guests are treated to a frosty glass of iced pure Mamaki tea by Tea Chest Hawaii, a local therapeutic herbal tea known for its healing and detoxifying qualities. Should you need any assistance planning your stay, the hotel’s new Wellness Concierge will be on-hand to assist in coordinating experiences that both enhance wellbeing and offer an opportunity to give back to the Island from local philanthropic partner Travel2Change. Activities will include a bicycle tour and beach cleanup, a kayak and snorkel excursion to restore Kāne‘ohe Bay, and reviving a historical fishpond, among other off-the-beaten-path adventures. Renew additionally will offer a weekly series of rejuvenating activities, such as astrology readings, mini aromatherapy facials, and beach yoga with cleanups.
