Nuovo in Napa

San Francisco’s SB Architects, the brilliant firm behind such stunning hotels as Dorado Beach—a Ritz-Carlton Reserve Resort, Maillouhana Resort Anguilla, and St. Regis Bahia Beach, was tapped to transform the Hotel Villagio and Vintage House along with top-tier design firm Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA).

Known formerly as the Villagio Inn and Spa, the Hotel Villagio’s 22-acre compound has been reimagined with a chic combination of contemporary farmhouse elements. The SB Architects team worked in concert with HBA to imbue the resort with an approachable luxury designed with clean lines and rich, moody colors. We’re loving the public space that blurs the line between the lobby and the cocktail bar. www.villagio.com

The redesign of the 80-room Vintage House upholds the Valley’s rustic heritage yet adds stylish, contemporary touches. Gone is the structure’s brick façade—in its place guests are greeted by a new two-story gable and white board-and-batten exteriors and a standing seam metal roof. Eighty bungalow-style guest abodes feature oversized wood burning fireplaces, private balconies, and soothing color palettes. The new pool area is a showstopper featuring a private deck showcasing ridgeline views.

Both properties are within walking distance of Yountville’s world-class restaurants, tasting rooms, and Restoration Hardware’s bold new integration of food, wine, art, and design at RH Yountville.
