On March 18, 200 gown-and-tuxedo-clad locals gathered at the Palace Hotel for the 16th annual Dress for Success gala. The event had a Casino Royale theme complete with flowing Domaine Carneros Champagne and post-dinner games such as poker, blackjack and craps.
After a walk-around wine auction, gala chair Sharon Seto kickstarted the program’s festivities that honored three locals — Stefanie Roumeliotes, Dion Lim and Andrew Freeman — for their commitment to the cause. Since the event also coincided with Freeman’s birthday, the hospitality guru was surprised onstage with a decadent cake and a roaring rendition of “Happy Birthday” from the crowd.
However, the most moving part of the evening was when Corevia Turner-Flynn shared how Dress for Success helped her land a new job at Everlaw. Franco Finn led the spirited live auction, which raised $545,000 for the organization, and jazz legend Paula West performed. NHG Sponsored
