Under a nearly full moon, close to 1,500 revelers — a convergence of the design, art, fashion, philanthropy, entertainment, sports and business worlds — streamed through the new RH San Francisco flagship (dubbed the Gallery). The March 17 event, hosted by chairman and CEO Gary Friedman, offered a preview of the long-anticipated showroom, housed in the historic Bethlehem Steel building at Pier 70. Its 80,000 square feet features a constellation of impeccably appointed rooms as well as the first-floor Palm Court Restaurant, where musician Shallou helmed the DJ booth. Armed with Cipriani bellinis, Champagne, mojitos and Blackbird Vineyards rosé, plus gourmet bites by Paula LeDuc Fine Catering & Events, guests ascended three stories to the rooftop. (The Gallery’s lowest level contains the largest RH Interior Design Firm & Atelier yet.)
The evening served as a benefit for Tipping Point Community, the nonprofit devoted to fighting poverty in the Bay Area. And while the host committee was quite the who’s who — including Ayesha and Stephen Curry, Tolan and Tyler Florence, Emily Holt, Nicole and Joe Lacob, Becca Prowda and Daniel Lurie, Jessica Moment, Sobia and Nadir Shaikh, Danielle and Brandon Shorenstein, Katie and Todd Traina — additional luminaries were spotted in the crowd (among them, Steve Kerr, Andre Iguodala, Jessica Alba, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi).
