Personalities

Perfectly Tailored

Maserati vehicles have always enjoyed a well-earned reputation for luxurious interiors, most notably glove soft leather seating and touch points and polished wood accents. The automaker raised the bar a few years ago by engaging Italian fashion designer Ermenegildo Zegna to create a remarkable seating surface that incorporated woven mulberry silk. And the process was repeated in the door panels. I experienced this remarkable combination in Maserati’s flagship Quattroporte SQ 4 sedan.

Now Maserati and Zegna are having more fashion fun with an optional woven leather available in limited edition models. The technique is called PELLETESSUTA™ and was previewed during Monterey Classic Car Week in Pebble Beach. I’ll give the material a proper test soon, wearing proper Zegna slacks for the occasion. The lightweight, stylish material is even available in Zegna’s menswear collection for possible inclusion on your Holiday gift list.
