This spring was supposed to mark the grand opening of a sparkling new Tiffany & Co. store at Santa Clara’s Valley Fair Shopping Center in the heart of Silicon Valley. While the fanfare and dazzle of an opening celebration will have to wait, Tiffany is still making headlines.
The company recently announced that its nonprofit arm, The Tiffany & Co. Foundation, has allocated $750,000 to the COVID-19 Response Fund for the World Health Organization, powered by the UN Foundation, and $250,000 to the New York Community Trust’s NYC COVID-19 Response & Impact Fund. Tiffany is also matching any employee’s donation to qualified nonprofit organizations supporting COVID-19 relief, dollar for dollar.
Anisa Kamadoli Costa, chairman and president of The Tiffany & Co. Foundation, notes, “During this global health crisis, we must all be responsive to the urgent needs of our global communities. We are proud to support organizations providing immediate relief for communities impacted by COVID-19, including our hometown of New York. In addition, The Tiffany & Co. Foundation has signed onto Philanthropy’s Commitment During COVID-19 Pledge, alongside over 500 other philanthropic organizations. The Pledge is a signal from foundations to grantees that we are ready to support them with the flexibility they need so they can respond quickly and confidently in these difficult times. Our goal is to signal to our grantees and the broader public that philanthropy stands side-by-side with the nonprofit sector at this moment.”
Since 2017, Tiffany & Co. has raised more than $5 million for the Wildlife Conservation Network by donating 100% of the profits from the exclusive ‘Save the Wild’ collection to the nonprofit.
